In this book, the author reveals the importance of us realizing that we are all unique and different and that’s the way that it’s meant to be. In the book, he teaches that we should not compare ourselves to others such as the beautiful models, athletes, movie stars, etc. since they have issues too. More importantly, the author teaches us that we must love ourselves and accept that we have flaws. He stresses that low self-esteem is usually the result of things that were said or done to us in our youth although that’s not always the case. In addition, low self-esteem affects our health and well-being which is a good reason to possess high self-esteem. With this book, you will learn the importance of having the self-confidence to succeed in life and business since very few people find success if they possess very low self-confidence and/or self-esteem. The author takes the reader through exercises to help them develop higher self-esteem and greater self-confidence within themselves. This is an excellent and very informative book that’s certainly is needed in these times with all the abuse, bullying, and harmful acts that take place in society on a daily basis. If you are in need of greater self-confidence, read this book!

The book is a self-confidence booster and focusses on raising self-esteem on various angles – be the person you are, motivate and like yourself, know your values, will power, self-assessment, self awareness, prioritize your values and brand, have role models, manage your values, failures and relationship. Self-esteem is the key and once that is controlled it leads to better success in business, work life, relationship and in life. Like yourself and value yourself in right way and the world will follow.

New Jersey author Raphael Dume is a researcher, entrepreneur and investor who has helped many people to improve self-esteem, resilience, happiness, optimism to not only reduce incipient depression, anxiety and anger but to enhance feelings of self-worth and happiness,In his Introductory comments he opens by defining self-esteem: ‘Self-esteem is a confidence on has in his own abilities and worthiness…Self-esteem fits right in to the fourth layer on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, a famous psychological too indicating what people need the most. The most basic needs, food, shelter, and water sit at the bottom; and nest comes esteem. The only thing greater than self-esteem is the attainment of self a-actualization, when on uses his abilities o their full capacity and lives up to his full potential. Maslow’s high rating of self-esteem shows that it is quite important for people to develop in order to have good lives. A person who has met all five needs in the Maslow pyramid is thought to be a very happy person indeed.’Raphael relates his ideas in a near conversational manner, a factor that makes reading (and benefiting from) his book a pleasure rather than an assignment. He offers sections on how to raise self-esteem, the importance of self-image, emotional intelligence (self-discipline, cognitive dissonance), worthy goals, the importance of role models, characteristics of successful people, and how to implement these into our lives. His guidance is practical and applicable and his manner of sharing accessible. ‘Abandon your insecurities, forgive yourself, create a better lifestyle and start to align your values with you way of life.’Solid guidance from man committed to making the world a better place – starting with self. Very helpful guide and one that is applicable to us all. Grady Harp, February 19

There is a lot of general psychological information covered in Self-Confidence 101: How to Overcome Self-Doubt and Begin to Influence Your Inner Self and Others by Raphael Dume. He first defines self-esteem and what exactly it is. The author also explains different characteristics of a person with low self-esteem. Backing it all up is examples of work by men who have studied this topic and people. I was initially interested in how to build self-confidence in others when I bought Raphael Dume’s book, Self-Confidence 101. I ended up with more information about this subject than I originally sought. At one point I felt he missed the mark, or I overlooked the key solution what clicked with me. I know how to shield myself from low self-esteem but how do I transfer it to my children. This is a good book which is helpful to understand low self-esteem in self, others, and signs of someone who needs help.

Just finished reading this book. It is necessary reading for anyone who is depressed, feeling lost, or who wants to improve his or her life. The author uses simple language that is easy to understand and goes from theory into ways to put his techniques into action. There are references to philosophers, such as Jung, William James, et al. I was particularly interested in what the author calls “terror management theory,” which I’d never heard of before. Apparently, it has a protective function that keeps people away from negative feelings. I also really liked the section on the often detrimental impact of TV and social media; it is arguably harder to create self-esteem and self-motivation when confronted with bullies, mean comments, and content that makes a person feel inferior (such as perfect-looking models). There is also an interesting section on what parents should do to help their children foster self-esteem and another on prioritizing values (to the point of creating a list). I recommend this book.

This useful book suggests a number of exercises we can do, including journaling, to improve low self-esteem. It combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with philosophy and recommends that we ask ourselves hard questions such as how do we influence the world and in what ways do we contribute?Self-Confidence 101: How to Overcome Self-Doubt talks about the importance of forgiveness, particularly self forgiveness. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies and we need to police our thoughts to see if we are being critical of ourselves. If it is not us, it could be somebody else. We could be in a toxic relationship that we need to re-evaluate and ditch.By planning small, achievable goals, we set ourselves up for success. Raphael Dume discusses the importance of maintaining our physical health, our mental and emotional well-being, and our relationships. He goes into detail about how to use CBT so as not to assume that we know what other people are thinking, not to blow things out of proportion, and to take better care of ourselves. All in all, this is a very good read.

SELF-CONFIDENCE 101: How to Overcome Self-Doubt and Begin to Influence Your Inner Self and Others by Raphael Dume truly unlocks your brain in order for you to boost your self esteem. Dume writes factually and with confidence, opening up the book with a scientific approach as he explains Maslow’s Heirarchy of Needs, the fourth level being self esteem. Self love or self esteem is a critical component in order to be happy on all levels. When you face your fears, practice self acceptance, and employ self compassion, you are on your way to functioning with increased self esteem. In this book you learn how to treat yourself better, how to manage your subconscious mind, and how to maximize your potential in life. Not only will doing this help yourself, but ultimately will improve your relationships with others. It is only by loving yourself, that you can love others too. Highly recommend this book if you are looking to improve your mental health and self esteem.

That’s the exact question I ask myself whenever I pick up a new book. If I can’t get a solid answer after reading the table of contents, I consider the book a failure. This book delivers. It’s not full of psychobabble and confusing rhetoric—or, as I like to call it, “Myriad excuses to stay messed up” but rather, it examines those parts of life and habits which may be causing you to maintain your nowhere attitude (or worse, continue on a downward spiral) and offers simple, well-thought-out advice on how to fix what ails you. Don’t get me wrong, there is work involved.. but unlike other books I’ve read that require you to visit a website and buy a system or product to achieve anything, when you read Dume’s work, you can put his action steps to work that very day from the inspirational and well-written framework Dume provides. This author has obviously been where the majority of us are now, and he’s also obviously researched and found a path to the other side that anybody can follow. If you’re struggling and not where you want to be, read this book.
